The Neptune-Pluto sextile 1950 - 2030
The conjunction of 1891-1892
Let's have a look at the big picture. The last Neptune-Pluto conjunction occurred at 8° Gemini in 1891-1892 (and the previous one at 3°Gemini in 1398-1399). The conjunction contains the seed of the cycle. The collective psyche explores Mercury's field : intellect, communications and travel.
The rock and roll sextile, from 1950 till 2032
1) Then the faster Neptune continues its path towards the sextile between Jan 1950-1956 (Pluto from 17° to 30° Leo ; Neptune from 17° to 30° Libra). This 1st sextile series (17x) lasted long because both planets were travelling at almost the same speed, Pluto slowly approaching his perihelion. The Neptune-Pluto angle still managed to reach 65° around 1966.
2) But Pluto started to move much faster (proximity to it's perihelia) : it started to travel inside Neptune's orbit, and accelerating, went back to the 2nd sextile series (23x) between 1976-1986 (Pluto from 10° Libra to 5° Scorpio ; Neptune from 10° Sagittarius to 5° Capricorn). Pluto continued to increase it's speed until it passed it's perihelia in 1989 at 14° Scorpio. The Neptune-Pluto angle will continue to decrease until 2004 to reach 52°. Now Pluto moves back towards its aphelion so this reduces its speed.
3) Neptune will catch up the 3rd sextile series (11x) between 2026-2032 (Pluto from 4° to 13° Aquarius ; Neptune from 4° to 13° Aries). If you consult the Graphic Ephemeris for Forecasts, you'll visualise all this clearly.
So... between 1950 and 2032, Neptune & Pluto both travel 180° of the zodiac while passing 'only' their sextile phase (lasting 82 years in all). This pattern, unique to this cycle, due partially to the cosmography of both planets (opposition of their perihelia + the Neptune-Pluto cycle lasts twice as long as Pluto's revolution around the zodiac), made me think !
The previous sextile, 493 years earlier
When considering the total length of the Neptune-Pluto cycle (493 years), we can also compare it to the previous one to check it with more perspective. As their original conjunction were closed to each other (in Gemini), there is a link. So, what kind of Rock and Roll happened then 493 years earlier?
1950 -> 2032 - 493 = 1457 -> 1539
1457 -> 1539 - 493 = 964 -> 1046
964 -> 1046 - 493 = 471 -> 553
471 -> 553 - 493 = 22BC -> 60
What are the possible meanings of this sextile and what correlation between the two last periods ? Interpretation here inspired by Bil Tierney's last great books (Alive and well with Neptune, AAWW Pluto) : coming from the Gemini conjunction in 1891 (or 1398), we can expect the sextile to open doors of perceptions (60°) of a hidden (Pluto) and ideal (Neptune) world of communication (Gemini).
